This 11 ½" tall ( Ken size ) My Fair Lady doll represents Rex Harrison in his famous role as Professor Henry Higgins. This well-dressed doll was the first of the MFL dolls that I purchased for my collection.
It is almost required that you have seen My Fair Lady the film, the actual musical or play with Rex Harrison, or at least know the basic story of George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion to fully appreciate the amusement of owning this doll.
I am extremely impressed with the craftsmenship used in these dolls. The details on the Professor's tweed suit, which the character in the film musical worn for most of the film, is sharply designed (the small pocket handkerchief is a nice touch). The brown hat he holds--which does indeed fit his head!-- is also delightful.
The molding of a Ken's head works well for this part... It is interesting to see Ken looking a bit aged and elderly--with slightly silvering hair, just like Rex Harrison was as Professor Higgins.
A very enjoyable doll, and a must-have if collecting any of the dolls in the My Fair Lady MFL dolls set! Now, Professor Higgins can help my Eliza Doolittle dolls learn to speak anyday.
