This 11 ½" tall ( Barbie size ) My Fair Lady doll represents Audrey Hepburn in her famous role as Eliza Doolittle. Captured in this magical outfit is the pivotal scene when Eliza was dressed as a princess for the Embassy Ball.

My pictures here attempt to capture the enchantment of this gown and the doll.

Indeed, the dress does sparkle, and it is truly as gorgeous as it seems from the photographs. It is crafted with a sheer lace overlay, made to shimmer in a silverish tone, and there is elaborate beadwork and detail over the collarbone. Doesn't this outfit remind you of the film? It is remarkable how much care they have put into fashioning these My Fair Lady dolls.

Accessory-wise, the doll wears long white gloves that reach fashionably past its elbows. Also, her matching earrings, necklace, and tiara are silver as well and shimmer delightfully with small jewels. She comes with her own doll stand and an accurately-printed Barbie-sized movie poster of My Fair Lady.

Looking at this doll, we as collectors have to admit that Professor Higgins may not have known how to treat Eliza as a lady, but he and Colonel Pickering certainly knew how to pick out an outfit!

In my opinion, the Embassy Ball doll represents an epitome of elegance - both in how she is detailed as a doll and the elegant woman she represents. This is easily one of my favorite dolls.
