Memorable Quotes from Funny Face (1957)

Directed by: Stanley Donen
Written by: Leonard Gershe
Audrey Hepburn as Jo Stockton
Fred Astaire as Dick Avery
Kay Thompson as Maggie Prescott
Michel Auclair as Professor Emile Flostre

- Jo Stockton: I don't want my hair cut! I don't want my eyebrows up or down; I want them right where they are! And I see no functional advantage in a "marvelous mouth." I'm leaving now, and if anyone so much as makes a move to stop me, there'll be plenty of hair cut and it won't be mine!

- Dick Avery: When I get through with you, you'll look like... what do you call beautiful? ...a tree. You'll look like a tree.

Interesting Movie Facts:
- Although her voice was semi-dubbed in many singing parts for My Fair Lady (1964), Audrey's performance is left intact as she sings for herself in Funny Face. She contributes to "Bonjour, Paris!," "How Long Has This Been Going On?," "On How to Be Lovely," and "'S Wonderful!" Bravo Audrey!

- Audrey Hepburn's mother, Baroness Ella Van Heemstra, appears in a cameo as a sidewalk cafe patron.

- Fred Astaire's character is based on real-life photographer Richard Avedon. Avedon himself actually set up some of the photo shots for this film; his most recognizable work being the portrait of Audrey's face in the darkroom.

- Not wanting to be away from her husband, Mel Ferrer, Audrey Hepburn had arranged for filming the Paris scenes to coincide with Ferrer's filming of Elena et les hommes (1956).

- Audrey Hepburn had little vacationing time as she filmed this back-to-back with Love in the Afternoon (1957).
